Ottoman Turkey, 18th century
Of baluster shape, resting on a narrow-waisted foot on a circular tray, the rounded cup-shaped base chased with roundels engraved with vegetal medallions, surmounted by a stepped openwork dome-shaped hinged lid featuring a similar decoration, enhanced with pierced vegetal sprays, and petals, and a flower bud finial at the top, the tray engraved with stylised vegetal bunches of tulips and rosettes, 22cm diam. and 24.5cm high.
