A George III provincial sterling silver pint mug, Newcastle 1770 by John Langlands
of baluster form upon a domed circular foot, the panelled C scroll handle engraved with initials W over GH in Roman script. The body with embossed decoration of a C scroll cartouche with, roses, thistles, and three leaf clovers reserved with matted decoration. The cartouche engraved with a crest of a cockrel. Gilt interior. Scratch weight underneath 10-5. Fully marked underneath.
