A pair of George II sterling silver candlesticks, London 1744 by James Gould
The bases of curved and incurved square form, with turbo shell corners interspaced between splayed shells, the central column with circular knops and a shaped square fluted knop below a plain capital. Each with two associated white metal sconces of fluted circular form. Each engraved to the base with a crest of a stag’s head erased. Each fully marked underneath, and with lion passant and maker’s mark to capitals, the sconces unmarked. (2)
