A mid-19th century Indian colonial silver pepper caster, Calcutta circa 1840 by Hamilton and Co

Of slightly tapering cylindrical form upon a circular form. Gadrooned rim with a pull off drill pierced domed lid surmounted by a ball finial. Engraved to the side PEPPER. Fully marked to the foot, H&Co, Elephant, urn, and capital A.
