A William IV provincial sterling silver mustard pot, York 1831 by James Barber, George Cattle II & William North
Of cylindrical ‘drum’ form with moulded rims, the wrought C scroll handle leading to a gently domed lid raised by a plain disc thumbpiece, cut with a spoon aperture to front. The lid with an incised line to edge, the base scroll of handle with an incised motif. The lid engraved with a crest of a unicorn’s head couped bridled. The interior fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Marked to the right of handle, the lid marked with makers mark, duty mark and lion passant only.
