A LARGE PANEL OF SILK AND COTTON IKAT
Possibly Bukhara, Uzbekistan, late 19th - early 20th century
The joined six lengths of white silk dyed predominantly in bright pink, with further pink and yellow highlights, with a repeating bold and stylised ‘key’ pattern, the lengths joined to form alternating patterns, backed with silk printed with an ikat pattern, stretched, mounted, and framed, the ikat loom 27cm wide, the backing loom 61cm wide, the panel 206cm x 160cm, 211cm x 165cm including the frame.
