A James II sterling silver spoon, London 1686 by Edward Hulse (free 1680)
Trefid pattern, an oval bowl with a beaded rat tail heel, the terminal prick dot engraved with contemporaneous initials E * S with scroll and * flourishes. The front of terminal engraved with a third quarter 18th century initial G in flourished cursive script. Fully marked.
Length – 18.4 cm / 7.25 inches
Weight – 39 grams / 1.25 ozt
Purchased by the vendors father, 2 April 1962
