ALBUM CONTAINING 31 GOOD CARTES DE VISITE PHOTOS starting with a very unusual 'Magic' Carte de Visite with a round mirror in the centre with the instruction “Breath on the glass and you will see Much that will astonish and amuse”, continuing with images of a soldier, a woman in a full crinoline, a man and woman in Albanian National Costume, Lady Elizabeth Thompson, Lady Butler (1846-1933, Battle Painter, sister of Alice Meynell), 2 of the Right Rev. Lord Bishop of Winchester (1805-1878), Cardinal Henry Edward Manning (1808-1892, Roman Catholic Prelate), 2 of William Gladstone (1809-1898, Prime Minister), Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881, Scottish Essayist and Historian), Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881, Prime Minister), several hand tinted images of Cardinals, Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna (1830-1911) and her daughter Grand Duchess Olga Constantinova (1851-1926, later Queen of the Hellenes), an image of an elderly man with a beard kissing a seal, 2 hand tinted images of women, the first in profile the other seated with a guitar and three related images, 2 of the sitters head and shoulders and the 3^rd a multiple image, by various photographers including Fratelli D’Alessandri of Rome, R. W. Thrupp, London Stereoscopic Co, J. Raine, Bergamesco of St Petersburg, Ashford Brothers, York Photographers, Ernest Edwards, A Claudet, H. P. Robinson, Mayall and H.
