A MINIATURE BRASS ASTROLABE
Qajar Iran, 19th century
Of typical circular shape, comprising three plates and one openwork grid with a ruler, the base densely engraved with four concentric bands of Arabic inscriptions to the interior and five to the exterior, the cusp engraved with symmetrical vegetal trellis, 7.5cm long and 5.5cm diam.
