A Queen Anne to George II unmarked silver pomatum pot, possibly Scottish circa 1700-50
Of circular form with rounded base and gadrooned edge, raised on a circular foot with gadrooned band, the pull off domed lid surmounted by a knop finial. Engraved to the lid with a later early 19th century crest of a boar’s head erased below a ducal coronet. Scratched underneath foot ‘AXI.’.
Height – 9.5 cm / 3.75 inches
Weight – 210 grams / 6.75 inches

The crest is for Campbell as borne by the Dukes of Argyll (est.1701)
