A SUPERB SCYPHOCRINITES ELEGANS CRINOID BED FOSSIL, DEVONIAN PERIOD, 6800 grams, 42 cm. Consisting of at least thirteen heads and numerous columnals. Known as ‘sea lilies’ because of their strong resemblance to plants, crinoids are filter-feeding aquatic animals closely related to sea urchins and are still found in our oceans today.
