A SILVER-OVERLAID TANJORE COPPER DISH WITH DANCERS

Of circular shape, resting on a flat base, with a flattened everted rim, the interior decorated with a variety of intricate silver-overlaid decorations including an enthroned god flanked by two wives surrounded by six female acrobats intertwined with each other in the central roundel, a flower petal-shaped fretwork band around the cavetto, and stylised rosettes and foliage around the rim, 23cm diam.
