A George IV Old Sheffield Silver plate wine cooler, Sheffield circa 1825
Of fluted campana form upon a circular base with an egg and dart rim, the everted upper rim formed as fruiting vine. The twin handles with classical male masks. The underside of campana with acanthus leaves. Fitted with a cylindrical liner and fluted inner mount. The base of foot engraved with an impaled coat of arms above the motto, the obverse with a helmet surmounted by a crest of wolf’s head surrounded by foliate mantling. Together with a silver plated EPNS twin handled tray. (2)
