A LARGE GLASS LOW TABLE WITH MODERN INDIAN CARVED WOOD LEGS
India, mid to late 20th century (the legs)

Of rectangular shape, a modern take on Indian furniture, the crossed X-shaped legs made of four composite carved wood sections locked into each other, the top segment carved with a central lotus in a square panel, the sides in the shape of volutes usually located on the sides of polylobed arches and architectural squinches, carved with birds, vegetal scrolls, rosette and floral sprays, fretwork bands to the bottom, a pine cone on each side to indicate the direction of the legs, surmounted by a plain sheet of glass, 204.5cm x 107cm x 40.5cm.
