A George IV Scottish sterling silver cup, Edinburgh 1822 by James Mckay
of campana form upon a pedestal circular foot with a reeded edge. The body with C scroll cartouches to each side, otherwise reserved with embossed foliate scrolls and rocaille work, a similar band to the foot. One cartouche later engraved with an inscription reading ‘Shardlow Fete Hospital Cup 1937”. The stem probably with some filling. Gilt interior. Fully marked underneath.
