A George II sterling silver cream pail, London 1753 by George Campar (reg. 7th Nov 1749)

Of circular bucket form with an everted rim, the body with bands to resemble coopering. The unmarked opposable interlaced strapwork pierced handle. Engraved initials underneath M*E in Roman script. Fully marked underneath.

Height – 8.4 cm / 3.3 inches

Weight – 73 grams /2.35 ozt

George Campar apprenticed to Charles Pickering 3 April 1740, turned over ? Roker in November 1741, free 6th May 1747. Probably the George Campar who married a Mary Fuller on 3rd Jul 1747 at Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London.
