A Charles II / James II unascribed provincial silver beaker, possibly Sussex area circa 1680

Of tapering cylindrical form with a moulded foot. The upper section engraved WILLIAM BAYLEY in Roman script. Marked underneath with three marks, a fleur-de-lis in a ring, a lion above three pellets (?) and a maker’s mark with HA or WH in a shaped cartouche with a pellet.

Height – 8.9 cm / 3.5 inches

Weight – 115 grams / 3.7 ozt
