A 12TH-14TH CENTURY PERSIAN UNGLAZED MOULDED POTTERY PILGRIM FLASK

A large unglazed moulded pottery pilgrim flask, Persia, 12th-14th century

Of slightly flattened spherical form, the wide flaring neck closing to a smaller aperture and flanked by loop handles, the body moulded and decorated with geometric motifs, roundels and cartouches containing birds. 31cm high
