A COLLECTION OF SEVEN PERSIAN ROYAL MEMORABILIA POSTCARDS
Qajar Iran, late 19th - early 20th century

Comprising three postcards for use in Iran including one with the photograph portrait of Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar (r. 1907 - 1909), dedicated in pen and ink to Mr. Seyyed Abdulrahim Kashani; one with the portrait of Nasir al-Din Shah (r. 1848 - 1896); and another with a standing portrait of Salar ud-Dowleh, son of Mozaffar al-Din Shah, dated 1911; four postcards for use in Europe including a souvenir of Mozaffar al-Din Shah (r. 1896 - 1907)’s visit to Belgium, postmarked 11 July 1902 Ostend to Uccle, Brussels; one to Toulouse, Haute Garonne, postmarked 1905 (?) Vosges; another unmarked, printed with the portrait of a Qajar nobleman in an oval; and a correspondence card ‘Persana’ with the emblem of the Lion and the Sun to the top left, the largest 14cm x 9cm.
