A Victorian sterling silver preserve jar, Sheffield 1850 by Henry Wilkinson and Co

Of panelled everted form with a shaped arabesque rim, all upon a shaped circular foot with embossed decoration of fruiting vine alternating with C scroll cartouches all below bunches of gapes. The body with pierced decoration of arabesque scrolls textured with matting. The pull of lid of open work form also of arabesque scrolls surmounted by a detachable finial of bunches of grapes, vine leaves and tendrils. Fitted with a removable cranberry glass liner
