A George III sterling silver sugar basket, London 1777 by Thomas Daniell (reg. 16th April 1774)
Of vase form upon a pedestal square base raised upon four ball feet, beaded rims, and a beaded swing handle. The body with a vacant shield shape cartouche between three bright cut engraved bands and pierced wavy slats with engraved ribbon ties swags. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath, handle unmarked.
