A George III sterling silver sugar basket, London 1782 by Robert Hennell I (reg. 30th May 1772)
Of circular vase form with a beaded edge upon a domed pedestal foot with beaded rim. The body and foot with pierced decoration of slats and a band of rosettes between bands of trailing leaves heightened with bright cut engraved decoration. Vacant cartouche to the front. Opposable beaded swing handle. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath only.
