An early George III sterling silver coffee pot, London 1764 by William and James Priest (reg. after 1764)

Of baluster form upon a moulded circular foot, the cast shell capped spout with shaped junction opposite a wooden scroll handle pinned to scroll sockets with shell junction to top and lozenge plate junction to base. The hinged domed lid with incised concentric lines surmounted by a pyriform scroll cast finial. The side engraved with a large contemporaneous crest of a lion’s head erased. Fully marked to side of handle, lion passant only to lid bezel.
