Lot 428 - D'Annunzio (Gabriele) Autograph letter signed...

D'Annunzio (Gabriele) Autograph letter signed ('Gabriele d'Annunzio'), in Italian, on personalised stationary, most probably addressed to his friend and fellow poet Cesare Pascarella ('Mio sempre carissimo Pasca'), saying how happy he is to learn that Pascal started flying and enjoyed "the freedom of the sky, either clear or cloudy", mentioning Antonio Bruers and accompanying a present to remind Pascal of their meals in Rome and Sardinia, two pages, mid-horizontal folding mark, 4to, Il Vittoriale, 6 January 1931.  ***Cesare Pascarella and Gabriele d'Annunzio embarked with Edoardo Scarfoglio on a trip to Sardinia in 1882. The intention was to visit the island "from every point, from the cultured and hospitable cities as well as from the mountains covered with forest and populated by almost unknown villages". Rare letter related to one of the least known periods of D'Annunzio's youth.
Estimated at £600 - £800
