Note: Cuna (also Kuna) Indian women, of Panama's San Blas archipelago, begin wearing ceremonial jewellery from a young age and along with their Mola textile designs, the crafting of ceremonial items is a key part of their cultural identity.

Provenance: Acquired by the current owner in part in Panama, Joyeria La Huaca - Galleria de Arte Pre-Colombino in 1975 and other source locations at around the same time.
