That date should find me in Grand Rapids…’, 2 pages, mailing folds, slight staining and age related toning, 20 x 12.5 cm., Oak Glen, Rhode Island, September 15th 1891. ***Julia Ward Howe (1819–1910) was an American poet and author, best known for writing ‘The Battle Hymn of the Republic’. She was also an advocate for abolitionism and was a social activist, particularly for women’s suffrage.
