Music Interest.- From the Estate of John McCabe
A collection of music memorabilia from the Estate of the late composer and pianist John McCabe, comprising: a 12" vinyl copy of Twentieth Century Piano Music performed by McCabe, signed and dated by Aaron Copland, 1975; a 102 vinyl copy of Alan Rawstorne Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra, signed 'All good wishes from Alan Rawsthorne' and also signed John McCabe; a 12" vinyl copy of La Peri, L'Apprenti Sorcier, Polyeucte performed by the Orchestre National, signed and inscribed to John McCabe by Jean Martinon; a 12" vinyl copy of Saint-Saiens Symphonie Avec Orgue performed by the Orchestre National, signed by Jean Martinon; a 12" vinyl copy of by Ives, Goehr, Schurmann, sung by Marni Nixon with piano John McCabe, signed "Best wishes and love, Gerard Schurmann"; a 12" vinyl record of Brahms chamber music, signed by violist Walter Trampler and inscribed to John's wife Monica; an autograph letter from Paul Dukas to Edouard Dujardin, in French, saying he is has just returned from Brussels and the premiere [of Ariane et Barbebleu] has been fixed for December 31st, also saying that if he wishes to attend the event, he needs to notify Kufferath immediately, two pages, 8vo, 21 December 1908; an autograph letter from Henry J. Wood to a Mr Garratt, thanking him for sending him a score of his arrangement of the ancient Cornish 'Furry Dance', and making suggestions for an orchestral arrangement, two pages, 4to, 4 August 1915; a small autograph compiled by a young McCabe, signatures including: Josef Krips, Frank Merrick, Alan Rawsthorne, Thomas Pitfield, and David Ellis, Fritz Spiegl, Maureen Springer with various other names, faux-leather, some handling wear, small 8vo; a group of signed First Day covers marking the London College of Music centenary, two signed signed by Michael Tippett, one by Richard Rodney Bennett and John McCabe and two by John McCabe alone; v.s.
