Iran, 19th century

With a gently curved single-edged blade with a broad steel tang, the ricasso featuring a gold-damascened floriated design, the steel handle and scabbard matching in style, engraved with cusped and oval cartouches in-filled with animals, birds, and portraits of Qajar youths, all against floral bloom and vegetal scrolls, 40.5cm long including the scabbard.
