A set of four George III sterling silver sauce tureens, London 1802/03 by John Emes (this mark reg. 10th Jan 1798)
Each of oval form upon domed oval pedestal feet, with reeded rims and D section reeded twin handles. The pull off domed lid of conforming shaped surmounted by an acorn finial, each cut with ladle aperture. Each fully marked underneath (two for 1802, two for 1803) and part-marked to lid bezel, each with scratch weight underneath 56”10. (4)
