A Victorian sterling silver chamberstick, London 1851 by Charles Thomas Fox and George Fox
Of shaped square form with a pierced scroll cavetto edge leading to a ribbed C scroll handle. The capital with lobed leafy base section and a removable circular sconce with scalloped edge, fitted with a removable conical extinguisher or snuffer. The field with engraved decoration of foliate C scrolls with lattice work reserves, the extinguisher similarly engraved. The pierced edge cartouche engraved with a crest of issuing from a ducal coronet an antelope’s head. Fully marked underneath and to extinguisher and sconce.
