A George I Scottish silver small mug, Edinburgh 1725 by Alexander Kincaid

of baluster form upon a conical foot with an incised edge, with a double C scroll handle. The front engraved with near contemporaneous initials C L over T in Scots script. Fully marked underneath and with assay master’s mark of Edward Penman (active 1707-29).

Height – 7.5 cm / 3 inches

Weight – 144 grams / 4.63 ozt

A tablespoon of 1719 with an alternative mark for Alexander Kincaid was sold these rooms, 24 Aug 2020, lot 232 (£200 incl. prem)
