A good early 20th century Chinese Export silver three-piece tea service, Canton circa 1900 by Yu Dechang
Qing dynasty. Comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled covered sugar bowl. Each of ‘tree trunk’ form with a gnarled inner section. The teapot with a spout modelled after a branch, opposite a handle modelled the same fitted with ivory insulators pinned to sockets. The milk and sugar with similar handles modelled as branches. The teapot and sugar with pull off lids with branch form finials with cast and applied prunus decoration. The bodies with cast and applied flowering prunus decoration. The teapot with an engraved presentation inscription in Chinese 寶格先生夫人榮㫌誌喜 and 趙世賢 董之材 譚 浩 王師成 敬贈 (names and ‘presented to’). The milk and sugar with gilt interiors. Each marked underneath 余德昌 (YU DECHANG) and with numeral 90. (3)
