A Victorian sterling silver milk jug, Birmingham 1870 by Horace Woodward & Co

of globular form upon a spreading circular foot with an everted neck with gadrooned rim. The C scroll handle with acanthus leaf junctions, the thumbpiece formed as a high scroll section with scrolling details. The body with an engraved decoration of arabesques and quatrefoil cartouches with ivy leaf surrounds. One side engraved with a coat of arms above the motto Pares cum Paribus, all surmounted by a crest of a greyhound courant. Fully marked to the edge.
