Autograph Album.- Incl. Robert Falcon Scott An autograph album presumably owned by Sybil E. Pellier-Johnson of 17 Gordon Square, London, including signatures by prominent late Victorian and Edwardian figures, including: Christian of Denmark (signature dated 22/04/1889), Princess Louise, Alexandra of Denmark, Dan Leno, William Gillette, Lily Langtry, Violet Vanbrugh, Lord Rosebery, the Duke of Devonshire, Robert Falcon Scott (on headed notepaper from 56 Oakley Street, where he lived with his mother and sister from 1904 to 1908), Princess Victoria, Field Marshal Garnet Joseph Wolseley, Annie Besant (autograph note to General Turner), Helen Mathers, Robert Hichens, May Lever Palfrey-Grossmith, George V (date 1888, when he was not yet Duke of York), George of Greece, Marguerite and Sophie Princesses of Prussia (written on diary pages for their respective birthdays), princess Helene of Orleans, Henrietta Rae, Johannes Woolf, Charles H. Hawtrey (autograph quotation from 'Jack Straw' by W. Somerset Maughan), miscellaneous collection including a printed portrait of Princess Victoria of the United Kingdom, pencil annotations related to the 1908 Chelsea Historical Pageant with a quotation signed by Alfred Brydone, a drawing of a knight in armour with pencil signatures of the cast for a production of the comic opera 'Les Cloches de Corneville', pencil signatures of the cast of an amateur production of 'The Belle of Brittany', signatures have been mounted onto album pages like in a photo album, light yellowing, tape remnants, green morocco, tape restoration to spine, 4to, late 19th-early 20th century.
