A TIBETAN THANGKA OF AVALOKITESVARA.
Tibet, 19th Century or earlier.
Tempera on canvas, the four-armed deity seated on a white lotus, the principal pair of his hands in anjali mudra, the second raised, with a lotus blossom in the left hand, a double halo surrounding his body, above him three incarnations of Buddha, below further protective deities, a bowl of offerings at their feet, all mounted on perspex, 50.5 x 34cm.
Provenance: Property from a Private English Collection, predominantly assembled in the 1970s and 1980s.
