Scottish Hare Coursing interest - A George IV Old Sheffield silver plate twin handled tray, circa 1826

of rectangular form with rounded corners, the applied leaded rim of rocaille foliate C scrolls. The twin handles with flowers heads and acanthus junctions. The field with chased flower heads, rocaille C scrolls and foliage against a matted ground. The centre engraved with presentation inscription “Given by The Lanarkshire & Renfrewshire Coursing Club and won by Mr Wetherspoon’s dog Serpent, beating 12 others, Feby 18th 1826”. Tinned reverse with four shallow bun feet. Unmarked.
