A George III Irish sterling silver bread basket, Dublin 1797 by Richard Williams

Of shaped navette form upon a spreading pierced foot with moulded edge. The body with pierced decoration of scroll work and lunettes heightened with engraving, with a reeded swing handle. The upper section of one end engraved with 19^th century initials MFC in gothic script. Fully marked near handle and with makers mark (Bennett 450) and standard mark only in handle.
