Possibly Safavid Iran, 17th century
Of globular shape, with a gadrooned body resting on a short circular foot, rising to narrow shoulders and a faceted conical neck flaring to a wide mouth, with a sinuous handle and straight damascened steel spout to the sides, with moulded decoration to the shoulders and underneath the spout consisting of trios of flower heads, the body engraved with forest scenes depicting men dancing with their arms in the air alternating with scenes of lions standing alone, the neck with further male figures, the engraved decoration heightened with gilding over turquoise glaze, 21cm high.
