Shiraz, Qajar Iran, late 19th - early 20th century
Of rectangular shape, engraved on both sides with figural decoration including scenes from everyday village life and battles en plein air with riders on horseback attacking enemies and performing the so-called Parthian shot, the edges engraved with scrolling rosette trellis with lush foliage, the interior plain with two elastic bands fitted on each side, 7.4cm x 9.7cm, weighs 101g.
