PROPERTY OF MR AND MRS DAVID KER, LONDON  FOLLOWER OF ADRIAEN FRANS BOUDEWIJNS (FLEMISH 1644–1711) Travellers on horseback in an Italianate landscape Oil on canvas  57 x 76cm (22 1/2 x 30in) PROVENANCE: David Ker (1751-1811) of Portavo and Montalto, Ireland Thence by descent to the present owners (see lot 37 for full provenance) Boudewijns work combines the traditional Northern landscape painting with the classicism of Claude Lorrain and Poussin. His landscapes are often bathed in a bright sunlit glow. These Classical idealised views became Boudewijns trademark. The meticulous rendering of trees reveals the influence of Gaspard Dughet.
