TWO CALLIGRAPHIC PRACTICE ALBUMS AND A SAFINA POETRY MANUSCRIPT

Persian manuscripts on paper, comprising a calligraphic practice album, 10ff., each folio with 4ll. of black ink diwani script, significant words in red, inscribed 1197 AH (1782 - 83 AD), in later paper binding, the folio 21.5cm x 16cm; another similar, 30ff., each folio with 5ll. of black ink shikasteh nasta’liq, but also some practice lines in riqa' and tawqi' scripts, the final folios with over extended mashq letters, 21.5cm x 15.3cm; and a small unfinished safina poetry manuscript with sonnets by Sa’di, 6ff., each folio with multiple pair of diagonal lines of lean black ink shikasteh nasta’liq text arranged in two columns, with catchwords, in marbled paper binding, 17cm x 9.5cm.
