Photograph Collection.- Ballet

Vintage album featuring a collection of photographs signed by prominent ballet dancers, comprising: Margot Fonteyn (21 signed photographs), Moira Shearer (9 signed photographs), Alexis Rassine (7 signed photographs), Harold Turner (5 signed photographs), David Paltenigi (4 signed photographs), Robert Helpman (4 signed photographs), Hugh Laing, Dimitri Romanoff, Muriel Bentley, Michael Kidd, Roman Jasinski, Moscelyne Larki, Tania Riabouchinskaya, Anton Dolin, George Skibine, Marjorie Tallchief, Robert Helpmann, Pamela May, Margaret Dale, Pauline Clayden, Leonide Massine, Victoria Elvin, photographs have been tipped in, light handling wear to boards, 4to, 1940s-1950s.

PROVENANCE: the album was put together by Jane Hunter (nee Durrad), who joined the Royal Ballet in 1923. Even though WW2 put an end to her dancing career, she did maintain her connections to the ballet world and became a Patron of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. The signatures were obtained by Mrs Hunter at the Sadlers Wells Theatre between 1945 and 1952.
