A CHINESE RANK BADGE, BU ZI.

Late Qing Dynasty.

With a Silver Pheasant, an emblem of the fifth rank standing upon a rock surrounded by rolling waves, raising his head towards the sun decorated with coral colour beads, with clouds and Buddhist Symbols around him, framed and glazed, 30 x 30cm.

Provenance: acquired in Shanghai in 1928 [according to an inscription on the reverse of the frame].
