A FINE SIGNED TABRIZ CARPET, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The ivory field with overall design of scrolling floral and leafy vine linking polychorme serrated palmettes together with stylised animals and birds. In pale rust border of multicoloured palmettes, floral sprays and arabesques between ice-blue delicate floral meander, chevron and plain stripes, approx: 12ft.7in. x 8ft.10in.(384cm. x 268cm.). Very good type and very nicely drawn overall detailed design. Good colour combination. Apart of slight localized wear to the top pile at one side border, this carpet has good pile and generally is in very good usable condition. Woven on fine light-blue cotton weft. Both ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages original. Elegant and very good frunishing piece. Signature cartouche at one end, Javan Amir Khis. Attractive piece.
