Olga, Grand Duchess of Russia

Three autograph letters signed ('Olga') to her former tutor Ferdinand Thormeyer, in French, the first describing the Pentecost ("the weather was so nice that the ladies sat in the garden, but alas the gentlemen...spent all the day indoor...Madame Iskra and I had a "belle promenade" by bicycle...after mass there was a commemoration for poor president Dumer assassinated by a Russian), 17 May 1932; in the second one Olga says they have just come back from a lovely little trip of three days to Jutland "On Monday we had decided to remain here to attend poor Paul's funeral in Ballerup, but on Tuesday we left the house early in the morning..and at 10 we took the ferry-boat and at 1 we had lunch in Ondense...after a night at the hotel we arrived to Randers at 8 in the morning...from Randers the trip became even crazier" and lists the places they visited (Silkeborg, Himmelbjerget "the highest mountain in Denmark" and the lakes nearby), 19 June 1932; in the last letter she writes "I think of you so often every day and in this beautiful weather I think of all the promenades with you to the places we love, to the little pavillion by Bagsværd lake..., and to the Fureso lake where we found those mushrooms...Since yesterday your rooms are occupied by a very nice Russian lady, Mademoiselle Vear Maslenikoff...we go to the church together", 3 July 1932; 10 pages in total, light age-related yellowing, 8vo, Knudsminde, Copenhagen (3)
