A George VI sterling silver three-piece tea service, Birmingham 1948 by Albert Henry Jephcott and Albert Henry Jephcott Junior (first reg. 8th March 1920, this mark 15th March 1932)

Late Art Deco, comprising a teapot, milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of globular form upon a spreading circular foot, the bodies with an applied central girdle. The teapot with a short spout opposite a walnut handle pinned to sockets, the stepped domed hinged lid with a pinned shaped walnut finial. Each fully marked underneath, the teapot lid part-marked, makers mark AHJ. (3)

Teapot length – 23 cm / 9.01 inches

Weight – 1140 grams / 36.65 ozt

The firm was based in Leicester originally at 1 Regent Place and later moving to 110 Berners Lane in Leicester.
