A mid to late 19^th century Chinese export silver gilt cheroot case, Canton circa 1860-80

Qing dynasty. Of cylindrical form with a push button release sprung hinged lid. All over with chased decoration of figural scenes, including a seated pair playing mahjong, all reserved with buildings, willow and fir trees. The top with a vacant oval cartouche edged with chased fruiting vine. The lid and base edge with French ET import mark only (unguaranteed objects Paris 1864-1893).
