Opaque pigments heightened with gold on ivory medallions, depicting three profile portraits and seven three-quarter portraits of distinguished Sikh and Mughal figures, including rulers, their consorts, courtiers, advisors, ministers, and military commanders like Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780 - 1839), his Maharani Jinda Kaur (1817 - 1863), the Prime Minister Lal Singh (in office 8 November 1845 – 31 January 1846), the Mughal princess Mumtaz Mahal, and many others, each sitter identified by old hand-written labels at the back, the portraits mounted on gold cardboard, glazed and set onto two different frames with red velvet-lined pads in the front, each miniature approximately 5cm x 7cm, 35.5cm x 30.5cm including the frame (x 2).
