A mid- 20^th century Iraqi silver and niello cigarette box, circa 1940

Of rectangular form with a hinged lid, wood lined base. The lid with an oval cartouche nielloed with a river scene of a boat man in a gufa, a dhow sailing boat, a mudif and camels with rider, all reserved with engraved rosettes edged with niello. Unsigned. Assay marks to the side for 800 standard minimum fineness and date letter (1941?)
