A William IV sterling silver ‘castle top’ vinaigrette, Birmingham 1832 by John Tongue

Formed as a purse, the hinged lid with a scene of Windsor castle, the shaped body with chased decoration of rosettes and foliage. The underside engraved ‘Souvenir’. Scroll sides with belcher chain attachments with a chased finger ring. The gilt interior with a hinged pierced and engraved foliate scroll grill. Fully marked between the top and bottom.
